About The Beer: White Birch Brewing based out of Hooksett, NH is a small batch brewery concentrating on small batch beer. Their tripel is easily one of my favorites in the market. Tripels are a curious beer, high abv (White Birch’s clocks in at around 9.5%) without a huge alcohol bite it lends to aging nicely as well.
In A Nutshell: White Birch Brewing Tripel is a amazing brew everyone should try.
Review: My bottle of the stuff has been sitting in a dark closet for about two months and was bottled in January of 2011. So at this point it’s about five months old. It pours a wonderful golden color, with a nice head that retains throughout drinking. Because this beer is bottle conditioned with active yeast it pours cloudy. It has an incredibly sweet fruity smell. As you drinkit starts off with a peppery hop bite that mellows into a sweater bready aftertaste. This beer is an incredibly crisp clean tasting brew that exemplifies what a Belgian Tripel is supposed to taste like. White Birch consistently puts out amazing beer that makes me an incredibly happy man. White Birch is moderately hard to find but is available in limited quantity in NH and MA.
